Postponement of NAIS-3 conference in Copenhagen
Due to current circumstances regarding the COVID-19, we have chosen to postpone our NAIS-conference in Copenhagen, which was due to take place from March 29th to April 1st.
The North-Atlantic Islands’ Students’ cooperation (NAIS) is a collaboration between the National student unions from the Faroe Islands (MFS), Greenland (AVALAK, ILI-ILI) and Iceland (LÍS); we meet once a year for a conference with themes that are relevant to the student unions and the Higher Education Area in Nordic/Arctic microstates. We have decided to postpone the conference and are expecting to have it October 2020, if circumstances allow it.
In an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19 our Governments have closed Universities for specific time frames. Most of the Universities are offering distance learning to some extent during this time. NAIS understands the gravity of the situation and supports the decision of closing the Universities. We want to stress that the Government and Universities need to provide the best possibilities for the students and ensure that their education is not compromised.
In the meantime, we urge all students to follow the guidelines provided from local authorities and to stay safe.
On behalf of the Students we represent
